Early
orthodontic
treatment

The American Association of Orthodontics recommends your child’s first visit to the Orthodontist to take place by age 7. It is usually difficult for a parent (and even a dentist) to determine if treatment is necessary because there are problems that can occur even though the front teeth look straight.

Many common tooth eruption and orthodontic problems can be addressed before they worsen.  Early treatment can give us the ability to gain space for the developing permanent teeth and alter jaw growth.  Early treatment may also shorten or eliminate the need for later treatment and/or later tooth extractions.

If no immediate treatment is needed, we will place your child on a recall program in which we will see them back once a year to continue evaluating jaw and tooth growth.
